ICC World Cup 2023: 3 Positive Developments for India Ahead of the World Cup

ICC World Cup 2023: The Indian team will be one of the favourites heading into the tournament. They will have an added advantage as they will be playing at home. It’ll be a great opportunity for the Rohit Sharma-led side to end their ICC Trophy drought and win their first-ever title since 2013.

Since the last few months, India has faced quite a few blows and have lost their main players due to injury. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have missed quite a few amount of cricket and their availability for future games is a big question mark.

But in what has been the positive development, it is learned that all of them have started training back and will be back soon. As per the Indian Express, it is learned that Jasprit Bumrah is bowling 8 to 10 overs per day in nets in NCA and is eyeing a comeback through the Ireland series

Shreyas Iyer after back surgery has started batting again. It is learned that he’s eyeing a comeback through Asia Cup along with KL Rahul, who also has been going through his recovery process and is eyeing a comeback in the same tournament.

The reports also suggested that Prasidh Krishna also has resumed bowling. He has been out of action for one year and was one of the pacers that BCCI was targeting for the ICC World Cup 2023. With him being gaining his fitness, it is likely that he will be back for the team as well.
