ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 points table: India finish group stage on high as Australia threat loom over them

After match 28, IND vs BAN, Australia are at the top, while England at second are followed by South Africa at third and India at fourth.

India and Bangladesh clashed in the last league game of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. However, the result wasn’t possible as rain washed out yet again encounter in the tournament.

In a game that took place at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, where rain played a spoilsport, saw match getting reduced to 27 overs per side at first. Put into bat, Bangladesh 119 for nine, and  India was well on the track to chase but rain again came and the game was washed out.

Bangladesh had a worst possible start to their innings as they lost Sumaiya Akter in the very first over. Soon after that Rubya Haider fell as well and things got worse for them when captain Nigar Sultana got run out as well with Bangladesh left reeling at 53 for three. 

Sharmin Akhter (36) and Sobhana Mostary (26) did the bulk of the scoring, while the middle and lower order failed terribly. Radha Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as she picked three wickets, which saw Bangladesh posting just 119 for nine.

The injury to Pratika Rawal in the first innings came as a big blow to India as Smriti Mandhana (34*) was accompanied by  Amanjot Kaur (15*) opening the innings. The duo batted well in the swing and seam conditions, adding 57 runs in 8.4 overs before rain again played the spoilsport and the game was abandoned.

After match 28, IND vs BAN, Australia are at the top, while England at second are followed by South Africa at third and India at fourth. Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan and Bangladesh are next and have been eliminated.
