The list includes young Indian batsman Mayank Agarwal for his brilliant exploits in the month of December.
Besides Mayank Agarwal, ICC also nominated New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel and Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc for the monthly award.
Agarwal featured in two test matches in the month of December 2021 and scored 276 runs. The cricketer scored two half-centuries and also smacked a century. Agarwal was also adjudged as the ‘Player of the Match’ in the second test match against New Zealand held in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Starc has uprooted as many as 14 test wickets in the ongoing Ashes against England and played a vital role in retaining the all-important Ashes 2021-22 by defeating the visitors in the opening three encounters.
