Trent Boult arguably has been one of the best pacers to have represented New Zealand in cricket. The left-arm pacer has rattled the batting lineups of the opposition single-handedly in all three formats of the game with his ability to swing the new ball.

Trent Boult has been the kingpin of New Zealand’s bowling lineup and has contributed significantly to the side’s win. It’s fair to say that he has been one of the main reasons behind some of the famous wins of the Kiwis. But since August last year, he hasn’t been part of the team.

Boult opted out of the annual contract of New Zealand Cricket to play in the foreign leagues. The left arm has been exceptional in the leagues around the world and has been taking wickets in clusters.

But with Cricket World Cup around the world, there have been speculations about if Trent Boult will be part of the team or not. NZC Ceo David White gave a massive update about the same. He said that they had quite a few conversations with him and he’ll like to be part of the squad. Speaking to SEN, he said:

“In saying that, we’ve had a lot of conversations with Trent over the last few weeks and months. I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t representing New Zealand in the World Cup, and we’re having very positive conversations with him.”

Recently Trent Boult also opened up about his desire to play in the world cup. He said that if things work out well he’ll be there in one of the biggest events in the calendar. Speaking to reporters during IPL, he said:

Of course, (I am) desperate to play in ODI World Cup – it is one of the biggest events in the calendar. My sole focus is on IPL at the moment and if things work out (well) I am 100 per cent I want to be there.”
