Haris Rauf dropped as Pakistan announce squad for T20 World Cup 2026

Pakistan will be captained by Salman Agha in T20 World Cup 2026.

The Pakistan Cricket Team have announced their strong 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026. Speedster Haris Rauf has been dropped from the side, which comes as a massive development ahead of the tournament, which will begin on February 7.

The Pakistan squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 will be captained by Salman Agha. Star batter Babar Azam has retained his place in the team along with Shaheen Afridi, who will be making his comeback after a long injury layoff.

In place of Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah has been added to the team for the tournament. They have also named quite a few all-rounders in Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Nawaz. They will be playing a key role with bat and ball.

Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Usman Tariq.

Pakistan are placed in Group A of the T20 World Cup 2026 alongside India, the Netherlands, the USA, and Namibia. They will begin their campaign against the Netherlands on February 7 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground in Colombo.

After that, they will lock horns with the USA on February 10, India on February 15, and Namibia on February 18. If they manage to bag the top two spots, they will qualify for the Super 8 round.
