Hardik Pandya ruled out as the Indian squad for the T20I series against Australia announced
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian squad for the five-match T20I series against Australia. The two teams will be crossing swords with each other in the five-match T20I series, to be played from October 29 to November 8.
Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the T20I series against Australia due to a quadriceps injury. The all-rounder suffered an injury during the Asia Cup 2025 and has been advised to rest for four weeks. His absence will come as a big blow as his experience will be a massive miss.
In his place, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been added to the team and would be keen to grab the opportunity. Also, Washington Sundar, who was in the reserves of the Asia Cup 2025, has been added to the team and is expected to play a key role in the tournament.
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the strong 16-member squad in the T20Is against Australia. Barring the above-mentioned changes, the Indian squad for the series is pretty similar to that which was in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025.
Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill are expected to open the innings while the middle order features Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube. They would be keen to continue their good form and help India win.
