Umran Malik has been turning the heat on with his sheer pace in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Jammu pacer is consistently clocking 150 kmph in every game he plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The speedster has already scalped nine wickets in six IPL 2022 games and is placed in the ninth position in the Purple Cap race.

Notably, the Indian Premier League (IPL) serves as a launchpad for young Indian players to showcase their talents and knock the selector’s door for their maiden Indian call-up. With the T20 World Cup 2022 lined ahead, the selectors would be closely watching every action happening in the tournament.

Harbhajan Singh, following SRH’s win over Punjab last night, reckons that Umran Malik deserves to be in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022.

“This (Blue) is the only jersey missing and he should get it early. I feel he is the most deserving one who should be selected to play for India in that T20 World Cup in Australia. He could be your match-winner there,” said Harbhajan Singh in Star Sports.

In SRH’s last match against Punjab Kings, Umran Malik shocked the world by delivering a triple wicket maiden final over the match. The pacer picked up three wickets and a run-out in the final over of Punjab’s innings and turned the game on its toes.

Owing to his outstanding bowling efforts, Malik become the only fourth pacer to deliver a maiden 20th over in an IPL match. Earlier, legendary pacer Lasith Malinga along with left-arm pacers Irfan Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat achieved the feat.
