Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya begins his IPL preparation in full swing: Dashing Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has begun his Indian Premier League (IPL) preparation in full swing ahead of season fifteen. The all-rounder has started hitting nets in Baroda’s IPCL ground, as he gears up to lead one of the two new IPL teams i.e., Gujarat Titans (GT).

The Baroda cricketer is training under the watchful eyes of Gujarat Titans (GT) head coach and former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra. He is accompanied by Abhinav Manohar, Darshan Nalkande and Varun Aaron who are also the part of Gujarat Titans (GT) squad for the Tata IPL 2022.

It is noteworthy that Hardik has been often troubled by his recurring back injury. The cricketer has been inactive from the international circuit and has been working extensively to regain fitness and recover his lost form. He last played for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 match against Namibia in the Dubai International Stadium.

He was under heavy criticism and public scrutiny following India’s disappointing outing in the T20 World Cup 2021. He showed his ineffectiveness to bowl during the World Cup which certainly didn’t go well with the fans and cricket experts as he was chosen for the all rounder’s role in the Indian side.

As of now, Hardik has made himself unavailable for the national selection. He is eying IPL 2022 as his major assignment to make a place for himself on the Indian side. Moreover, his selection in the T20 World Cup 2022 will also be somewhere in the back of his mind.

“Hardik Pandya, Abhinav Manohar, Darshan Nalkande, Varun Aaron are currently training at the IPCL ground in Baroda. The camp kickstarted on February 25 and it will conclude on March 2,” a source close to the developments was quoted by the Print.

The source further informed that Gujarat Titans (GT) will probably organise a cricket camp in Ahmedabad ahead of the start of the Tata IPL 2022.

“The preparation camp for the entire team is most likely to be held in Ahmedabad.”

Season fifteen of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is slated to begin on 26th March (Saturday) while the final of the tournament will be played on May 29 (Sunday).
