Gambhir Out As India Coach? Social Media Erupts Over Test Series Disaster

The Indian team is having a tough time in test cricket; they are losing back-to-back series and decreasing their chance for the ICC World Test Championship 2027 Final. After another disappointing performance at home, social media erupted and demanded that the BCCI sack Gautam Gambhir with hashtags like #SackGambhir #GambhirOut.

Currently, India and South Africa are playing the second test match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati; however, South Africa is already leading this two-match test series by 1-0. South Africa batted first in the 2nd test, and they made a mammoth 489 runs on the scoreboard.

Later, the Indian Team came to bat and they got all out by scoring just 201 runs in just 83.5 overs, whereas South Africa played 151.1 overs in their first innings. The Indian Team has had a very bad performance on home soil after Gautam Gambhir being the new head coach of the Indian Cricket Team.

India has played 53 test matches at home in the last 10 years, and they have lost only 8 of them. Shockingly, out of these 8 defeats, four of them came after Gambhir became the head coach and replaced Rahul Dravid.

Fans got furious after India got all out at just 201 in their first innings on Day 3 of the Guwahati Test while South Africa made 489 in their first innings. Some players were seen playing reckless shots and easily gave their wicket, while others failed to make big partnerships.

Social Media erupted and started blaming Gautam Gambhir for poor team selection and a strange batting order. Fans questioned the strategies of the Indian Team on the spin track, where India once used to dominate.

Will Gambhir be sacked?

Despite having such terrible records, Gautam Gambhir might not be sacked immediately, but there will be a detailed review by the BCCI after the series. He is definitely going to coach the Indian team till the T20 World Cup 2026, and if India loses this tournament, then chances are very high that he will be sacked.
