The FIFA World Cup 2022 is underway. The tournament has already witnessed some amazing goals and some amazing tackles. We have also witnessed a shocker in the form of Argentina vs Saudi Arabia game. The game was a wake-up call for the Argentinian team. But the question remains: Will the FIFA World Cup 2022 feature all the top players on the globe? Are there a few amazing players who have missed out? Here is a look at the top 5 such players:

Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard:

Erling Haaland is the only player in the Manchester City first team that won’t go to Qatar. He might have had a major “FOMO” while his other teammates were preparing for the tournament. The reason is the fact that Norway had a very underwhelming qualifying campaign and failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Similarly, Martin Odegaard, who is an integral part of the Arsenal squad in the Premier League has also missed out. Haaland and his abilities are not a question and the same is the case with Odegaard.

Mohamed Salah won’t be seen at the FIFA World Cup 2022:

Mohamed Salah won’t feature at the FIFA World Cup 2022 as Egypt failed to qualify for the tournament. They had a very underwhelming campaign. This instance just shows that football is a team sport and an individual’s effort is not enough to make a team great. Liverpool is blessed to have such an elite striker. He is super quick on the pitch. It is a mockery that one of the top strikers on the globe is not a part of the greatest football event.

Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez:

Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez will not feature in the FIFA World Cup 2022. James Rodriguez, the player who lit up the FIFA World Cup 2014 has gone down the ranks. Colombia failed to qualify for the tournament as they too had a poor qualifying campaign. Luis Diaz is a part of the Liverpool squad and is one of the most in-demand attackers.

Riyad Mahrez won’t feature at FIFA World Cup 2022:

Riyad Mahrez will also miss out on the FIFA World Cup as Algeria has failed to qualify. The African team had a poor performance in the African qualifiers. Mahrez who was a star in the dream campaign that Leicester City had in 2016 is currently playing for Manchester City. He is an integral part of Pep’s team. It is a pity that this elite player has missed out on the global stage.
