The England Cricket Team is in red hot form. The pangs of their form were felt by the Dutch bowlers. The English team trashed the men in orange like they were playing against a club-level team. The pitches did favor good batting but the game on display was elite. The “ALL-OUT ATTACK” approach of the England team has caused this revolutionary change. Under the leadership of Eoin Morgan and the management of Trevor Bayliss, the team is looking solid. So, what are their chances at the T20 World Cup 2022? What is the expected English squad? Here is an in-depth look:

Expected England Cricket Team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022:

1) Jonny Bairstow:

Jonny Bairstow is expected to join the Brits on their tour to Australia. Bairstow is one of the finest white-ball batters. He has been timing the ball exceptionally well. He has a good game against the pacers as well. His pull shots and cut shots are a treat to watch. When Jonny is on the song, he takes the game away single-handedly. He also happens to love it when the ball comes on the bat. The Australian pitches are ideal for players like him.

2) Jos Butler will play for the England Cricket Team:

Jos Butler is the top-white ball batter at the moment. He is coming from an elite IPL season. He trashed almost every bowler in TATA IPL 2022. Butler has been timing and placing the ball precisely. He is a complete T20 package. His wrath and power were also felt by the Dutch bowlers. Butler slammed the fastest hundred by an Englishman against the Dutch. He scored it in 42 balls. He hits the ball a long mile but it is not power hitting. It is pure class.

3) Dawid Malan:

Dawid Malan is one of the most under-rated batters in T20 cricket. The ICC panel does rate him very highly but he remains under the radar. He is not very flamboyant on the field but gets the job done. He has a good game against spin. The same will come in handy when the leg-spinners will bow the middle-overs. He moves the game around in the central phase. He makes sure that he scores at more than run-a-ball and that the other batters around him can flawlessly play their strokes. He gives free space to the strikers like Butler, Livingstone, and Moeen.

4) Liam Livingstone will play for the England Cricket Team:

Liam Livingstone is my player to watch out for at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. He is the most in-demand cricketer across the globe. He does every job on the field. From leg-spin to off-spin to pinch-hitting, Liam does it all. Add to it, his energy on the field. He keeps the environment alive. A joyous individual, Liam is a complete team man. He can be a big threat to the left-handers when he starts bowling off-spin in the powerplay overs. He can bowl in tandem with Moeen.

5) Ben Stokes will play for the England Cricket Team:

Ben Stokes is my player for the big matches. He might not win you the games in the initial stages but it is “Cometh the hour, cometh the man”. He stands alone and fights alone in every crunch situation. When everything is going downhill, Ben makes a fightback and inspires the team. His commitment to the game is unmatched. He gives you a balanced middle-order batting option and 2 to 3 overs of pace every game. He is very well-known for his next-to-impossible catches.

6) Eoin Morgan:

The man behind the tactical masterstroke, Eoin Morgan will lead the England team at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. Morgan made sure that the England team gets a revamp after their failure at the ICC ODI World Cup 2015. He caused the change in ideology and asked all the batters to play freely without fearing about losing their wicket. Eoin himself hasn’t got a very big score with the bat in recent times.

But on his day, Morgan takes the game away. Being a left-hander gives him the added edge. He is also a strong tactician on the pitch. He makes effective use of his bowling options. When things go wrong and nothing is in place, it will be Morgan’s turn to come to the top.

7) Moeen Ali will play for the England Cricket Team:

Moeen Ali is another big-ticket white ball player on this planet. Moeen recently announced his wish to once again play Test Cricket for England. So, it is expected that he will come out of retirement and play for them as well. Moeen is also left-handed and gives the pure right-handed option as a bowler.

He will be a big threat to players such as QDK, Ishan Kishan, or any other left-hander. Ali can give 2 overs in the powerplay as well. He can be floated at number 3 if Dawid Malan is not very comfortable. He can be used as a finisher too.  He is a complete package for the England Cricket Team.

8) Chris Woakes:

Chris Woakes and his contributions slip under the radar due to the limelight of Ben Stokes. But his performances are almost equivalent to Ben’s. He does wonders with the ball in powerplay overs. The Australian conditions are very ideal for Woakes as he can make use of the breeze to swing the ball. It is said that a few bowlers have swung in their arms and that is exactly the case with Woakes. The added dimensions of his game are his batting and his fielding. Woakes can easily bat number 8 in any T20 team on the globe.

9) Chris Jordan:

From one Chris on to another. Jordan has to be picked for the experience that he brings. Jordan has been associated with the top teams across the globe. He has played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. This season, he was associated with the Chennai Super Kings. Jordan has been in the cricketing circuit since 2015 and has a truck-load of experience. He will effectively take care of death bowling.

10) Jofra Archer might play for the England Cricket Team:

Jofra Archer and his availability can do wonders for the Englishmen. If Jofra is available, England has a big chance. They will be coming in as the best team to win. Jofra just fits in the team’s balance and ticks all the boxes. Archer is very well known for his express pace and those laser-guided yorkers at the death. He can also bowl in the powerplay.

Jofra can bat as well. Previously franchises have used him as a floater for pinch-hitting. He can be used to float the run rate upwards. He is also electric on the field. The major concern is injury management in his case. If the Brits can keep him fit, he can do wonders for the team.

11) Adil Rashid will play for the England Cricket Team:

Adil Rashid is one of the best leg-spinners in the world. It is a pity that he didn’t receive an IPL contract in the TATA IPL 2022 season. He had a lot to offer to any team that would pick him. He is a wizard. Rashid turns the ball square on pitches that have limited to offer for the spinners. He helped the Englishmen beat the Caribbean Kings in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He makes use of flight and decent pace to deceive the batter.

12) Mark Wood (Back-Up Fast Bowler)

13) Jason Roy (Back-Up Opener)

14) James Vince/Philip Salt (Back-Up Middle Order)

15) Sam Curran/Tom Curran (Back-Up Finisher/All-Rounder)
