England announce squad for World Cup 2026

The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 will begin on January 15, 2026.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the England U19 squad for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026. Young wicket-keeper batter Thomas Rew has been named as the captain of the team and would be looking to bring the glory to his team.

The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 will be played in Zimbabwe and Namibia and is expected to be a blockbuster clash. Thomas Raw, who is one of the best batters for England would be keen to take his team to the title, which they last won in 1998.

Nottinghamshire all-rounder Farhan Ahmed has been named vice-captain of the captain. He is a younger brother of England star Rehan Ahmed and recently captained the team in the youth ODI series in the West Indies. He will be holding key for his team in the tournament.

Leicestershire’s left-arm spinner Ali Farooq after his performances in the second XI championship has earned a maiden call-up. Along with him Surrey’s Ralphie Albert and Alex French have also been added in the team for the tournament.

Thomas Rew (c) (wk) (Somerset), Farhan Ahmed (vc) (Nottinghamshire), Ralphie Albert (Surrey), Ben Dawkins (Kent), Caleb Falconer (Middlesex), Ali Farooq (Leicestershire), Alex French (Surrey), Alex Green (Leicestershire), Luke Hands (Lancashire), Manny Lumsden (Hampshire), Ben Mayes (Hampshire), James Minto (Durham), Isaac Mohammed (Worcestershire), Joe Moores (Lancashire), Sebastian Morgan (Middlesex).

England are placed in Group C of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 alongside Zimbabwe, Pakistan, and Scotland. They will be playing all their games at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare. 

The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 will begin on January 15, 2026, with the final scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club on February 6.
