Did not expect to make debut in Australia says, T Natarajan.

Australia vs India: The young Indian pacer Thangarasu Natarajan says he did not expect to make debut in Australia and was under pressure in the first game for India. Natrajan made history for India after donning India colours in Australia.

Thangarasu Natarajan is the only Indian cricketer to debut in all three formats of the game in the same tour. He made his ODI debut against Australia in the last ODI at Canberra on December 2.

“I was focused to do my work as a net bowler. When I was told that I will be making a debut, there was surely a pressure and I want to make most of the opportunity given to me. Making debut for India and picking wickets is always a dream for any bowler,” Natarajan told reporters in Chinnappampatti in Salem district.

The left-arm pacer made his T20I debut in the subsequent T20I series while the test debut came in the fourth and last match when Jasprit Bumrah complaint of abdomen strain. In the test debut, the seamer took three wickets and ended on the winning side and created history.

“I cannot have words to express my feelings. I am happy about playing for India. It was a dream for me and I didn’t know that I will be debuting. All the players and coaches backed me and I was able to perform because of their backing,” said Natarajan in Tamil.

Natarajan also said that he enjoyed playing under both Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane as both of them acted as the support system to him.

“(Virat) Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane handled me very well.. they had positive things to say and encouraged me a lot. I enjoyed playing under both of them,” he added.
