IPL 2022: CSK skipper MS Dhoni has been at the centre of the limelight ever since he joined cricket at the highest level. The cricketer hasn’t gone off from that even after taking retirement from international cricket. His recent task completion to take CSK to its fourth title has pushed the former Indian skipper even more close to the spotlight.

Dhoni helped Chennai win its fourth IPL title by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs in Dubai. The celebrations in the CSK dressing room and amongst the CSK fans begin right from there and hasn’t stopped yet.

The reports, a day after CSK’s IPL win, revealed that Dhoni and his wife Sakshi are pregnant and will become parents for the second time in 2022. However, this isn’t the end of delightful news for Dhoni fans as one of the senior CSK officials has confirmed that the first retention card used by CSK ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction will be for MS Dhoni.

The World Cup-winning Indian skipper had already left signs to continue his association with CSK after he respond to Harsha Bhogle that he hasn’t left a legacy yet, which most CSK fans were dying to hear.

“There will be retention and that is a fact. The number of retentions isn’t something we are aware of yet. But honestly, that is secondary in MS’ case because the first card will be used for him. The ship needs its captain and rest assured he will be back next year,” the official said giving a clear indication of MS Dhoni’s confirmed retention ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction.

The BCCI is yet to announce the rules for the upcoming mega auctions. According to the general impression from the close sources, the already existing franchisees will be allowed to retain a few players while the two new inductees of the IPL will be entitled to ‘special picks,’ to acquire a few cricketers before heading to the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.
