Vivo IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again acquired the top spot of the Vivo IPL 2021 points table after a comprehensive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in the 23rd game at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.

CSK chasing down the total of 171 runs in Delhi completed the run fiest in just 18.3 overs and with seven wickets to spare.

Young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad chalked-up most runs from his side. He scored 75 off 44 balls with the help of 12 fours while his opening partner Faf du Plessis scored 56 from 38 balls making a strong opening stand.

Gaikwad and du Plessis stitched a 129 runs beautiful partnership which took CSK to an easy and comfortable win over SRH last night.

While the remaining work was done by Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. The England all-rounder Moeen Ali scored 15 off 8 while the other two remained unbeaten with 17* and 7* runs respectively.

Opting to bat first, SRH didn’t have a good start as Jonny Bairstow was dismissed cheaply in the 4th over by Sam Curran.

SRH skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey played sensible knocks after the early dismissal of Bairstow. The duo scored over 100 runs partnership for the second wicket and took SRH to 128 runs in 17 overs.

Warner amassed 57 runs off 55 deliveries with the help of three fours and two sixes while Manish Pandey piled up 46 balls 61 which included five boundaries and a six.

To finish off the things nicely, Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav accelerated at the backend. Both the batters amassed 44 runs in the last three overs which helped SRH reach a respectable total of 171 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

For his brilliant knock upfront, Ruturaj Gaikwad was adjudged as the “Man of the Match”.
