CSK go berserk for uncapped players, ropes in highest paid uncapped players in IPL history ft. Kartik Sharma
With INR 14.20 crores, Prasanth Veer and Kartik Sharma are now the highest-paid Uncapped cricketers in IPL history. The IPL mini-auction has marked the latest strategy for this edition of the IPL, as they, despite having a massive purse, waited eagerly and grabbed Indian uncapped players.
The strategies seemed to go over the heads, as Chennai Super Kings, despite their massive purse, did not bid desperately for Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone or even Ravi Bishnoi, despite their need for a spinner.
Until the round for Uncapped players, Chennai Super Kings had a massive purse, but just within moments, Stephen Fleming had his plans revealed. They went berserk as CSK picked two uncapped players for a whopping INR 28.4 crores combined.
Prasanth Veer and Kartik Sharma became the joint-highest, most expensive uncapped players in IPL auction history
Chennai Super Kings have completely transformed from being the team that favoured the senior pros to the ones who favour toddlers. Keeping mum during the initial rounds, all hell broke loose when the uncapped players entered the auction.
This time, it was all about the young uncapped players, as Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and the Chennai Super Kings emptied their purses to add these players to their squads.
List of the most Expensive uncapped players in IPL history:

Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer's domestic record books
The 20-year-old spinner from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh first came to the limelight as he represented the Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 League. The left-handed batter is known for some fireworks down the order and also has a reputation as an orthodox spinner.
Often a miser with runs during his spells, he is often compared to the modern-day veteran from India, Ravindra Jadeja. CSK scouted him out of some fascinating numbers, as he amassed 112 runs at a strike rate of 170+ and picked 12 scalps with a startling economy of 6.45.
Ahead of the start of the auction, the player wished to be part of the Yellow Army, as he wanted to stay and learn closely from one of the greatest finishers of the game, MS Dhoni, and now his dream has come true.
Kartik Sharma, on the other hand, is now the third wicket-keeper in the CSK side, alongside Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel. Starting off with the Mumbai Indians, the bid was pushed further with LSG and KKR taking his price beyond 5 crores.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings took his price to an equally insane range of INR 14.20 crores, much like Veer. The 19-year-old from Rajasthan has 334 runs in 12 T20 matches and has been marked as a rising fierce striker of the white ball.
