IPL 2026 Mini-Auction: KKR, CSK Dominate as Cameron Green Tops the Charts
Cameron Green becomes the most expensive buy at the IPL 2026 mini-auction as KKR and CSK go big. Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi draw intense bidding.
The IPL 2026 mini-auction, held in Abu Dhabi, delivered a day of intense bidding as franchises aggressively rebuilt their squads ahead of the upcoming season. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), armed with the biggest purses, emerged as the biggest spenders in an auction that saw strong demand for all-rounders, spinners, and promising uncapped players.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was the headline buy of the auction, sparking a fierce bidding war between KKR and CSK. His price surged past the Rs 20 crore mark, making him the most expensive player of the day, with final figures reported to be in the Rs 18โ22 crore range.
Indian batter Venkatesh Iyer also attracted heavy interest, particularly from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and KKR. The left-handerโs value climbed rapidly, with reports suggesting a final price between Rs 10 and 15 crore.
Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was among the most sought-after bowlers, eventually landing a deal worth Rs 8โ12 crore, likely with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) or Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Team Highlights
KKR and CSK flexed their financial muscle, starting with purses of Rs 64.30 crore and Rs 43.40 crore respectively. Both franchises focused on long-term rebuilding, filling between 9 and 13 slots each.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru targeted top-order batting options, while Mumbai Indians, limited by a purse of Rs 2.75 crore, largely focused on uncapped players.
In total, 77 slots were filled from a pool of 369 players, with no Right to Match (RTM) cards used during the auction. The complete list of sold and unsold players is expected to be published on IPLT20.com.
