IPL 2021 Auction Updates: Chris Morris becomes most expensive buy in IPL history.

IPL 2021 Auction: South African Chirs Morris bags big in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Morris has been picked by Rajasthan Royals for whopping INR 16.25 Crores which is the most expensive buy in the history of the cash-rich league.

Before Morris, Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was in the hot seat as he got INR 16 Crores which was then the most expensive buy.

Last year, Australian pacer Pat Cummins was the most expensive player, who was brought by KKR for massive INR 15.2 Crores. However, Chris Morris shattered all the previous record in the history of IPL as franchises got involved in bidding war.

The right-arm pacer and pinch hitter has 70 IPL outing in which the all-rounder scored 551 runs at a strike rate of 157.87 and averaging 23.95.

With the ball in hand, Morris has 80 scalps under his belt with the economy of 7.81.

Playing for his national side, Morris debuted in 2012 in T20I against New Zealand and since then he has played 23 T20I games and has amassed 133 runs along with 34 wickets.

The 33 years old has 1764 runs overall in 218 T20 games at a strike rate of 151.02 along with 270 wickets at 22.09 and economy of 7.76 runs per over.

Rajasthan Royals will be happy with the buy as Morris can act multi-dimensional for them. He can be a bowling partner to Jofra Archer, can also be a back-up option to Ben Stokes.

With a bright and explosive arsenal, Rajasthan Royals are looking solid now.
