IPL 2021 Auction: Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has made a late entry to the IPL 2021 auction with a base price of INR 1 Crores. The 33 years old cricketer has been part of IPL auction since its inception but till now he hasn’t found any buyer despite carrying impressive numbers in the shortest format for his national side.

Earlier, NIBCO, the company who handles the cricketer’s profile said that the 33 years old has opted out of IPL 2021 auction by not registering in it. However, the reports suggest that he has made his mind to take part in the auctions and see if he can get a franchise for the coming tournament.

“We have not made any submission for Mushfiqur Rahim for IPL this time,” an official from the NIBCO was quoted as saying to New Age earlier.

The IPL 2021 auction is all ready to take place on 18th February in Chennai from 3:00 PM IST. All the franchise owners have arrived at the place in Chennai and will be excited to bolster their respective squads.

Mushfiqur Rahim Career:

Rahim is a noticeable face in Bangaladesh’s T20I squad. He has played 86 T20I games since his debut in 2006 in which he scored 1,282 runs at an average of 20.03. His strike the ball at 120.03 and has five half-centuries under his belt.

Talking about the T20 format, in 202 matches the wicketkeeper-batsman has amassed 4,288 runs at an average and strike rate of 28.97 and 127.96 respectively. He has 25 half-centuries in the format.

Rahim’s Bangladesh counterparts Mohammad Ashraful, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdul Razzak, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman have taken part in the IPL. He is the leading run-scorer in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). 

In the T20 tournament, Rahim has amassed over 2200 runs in 85 outings which includes 25 half-centuries.
