Babar IN, Rizwan OUT! Pakistan Announces Strong Squad for South Africa White-Ball Series 2025

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a strong 15-member squad for T20Is and a 16-member squad for ODIs for the white-ball series against South Africa. After missing the Asia Cup 2025, star batter Babar Azam returned to Pakistan’s T20I Team; however, Mohammad Rizwan still misses his position in the T20I Team.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will be the new captain of the Pakistan ODI Team, replacing both Babar Azam and Mohd. Rizwan retained their position in the team. Usman Tariq got his maiden call, whereas Naseem Shah returned to the T20I side after a long break. 

Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf and Sufiyan Moqim will be part of the Pakistan T20I Team as reserves in this three-match T20I series against South Africa. The series is all set to start from October 28, 2025, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Both teams will be looking to test their bench strength ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Balanced and Talented Squad:

Pakistan retained their core squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa, which will start from November 04, 2025. Mohd. Rizwan retained his place in the team despite getting sacked as captain. Shaheen Shah Afridi will be leading the team in this series.

Faisal Akram returned to the ODI side along with Haris Rauf and Haseebullah. A lot of key players will return to the Pakistan ODI team after a long time, and it’s going to be an exciting series for both teams. But Shaheen Shah Afridi has to go with a lot of baggage.
