Australia vs India: Never Underestimate Indians says Australian coach Justin Langer.

Australia vs India 4th Test: Australian coach Justin Langer says he has learnt one massive lesson from the series to never underestimate Indians after India outplayed the deadly Aussie squad. Inexperienced and bruised India thrashed Australia in their home to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy and ink the history.

Australians had never lost a single test match at Gaba since 1988. However, India’s sheer determination and grit overtook all the critics.

Justin Langer praised India for playing an incredible cricket in the tour and their lion-hearted effort is commendable. Team India came up after the humiliating defeat at Adelaide when Aussie bundled India for mere 36 runs to win the game in just three days.

“Just never take anything for granted. Especially, never underestimate the Indians. If you get a chance to be in the first eleven from the huge 1.5 billion population, you got to be tough, don’t you?”

India outplayed Australia in all ways. Langer praised India for a remarkable comeback, especially after the Adelaide debacle.

In the hard times when all the senior players of the team got injured, the bench strength showed character to pull the team-up. India got few rising stars in the tour such as Shubman Gill, Mohammad Siraj, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur.

Full Credit to India for their unbelievable effort: Justin Langer

“I can’t compliment India enough. They haven’t gone away after that first Test match which we won in three days, bowled them out for 30 odd. For them to fight back as they did is amazing, credit to them. The big lesson for us is that you can’t take anything for granted. India never got away,” he said.

India’s zeal to retain the trophy was one of the things to remember for a long time. Chasing the 328 runs in one final day against the daunting attack is a task and India have done it easily.

Young Rishabh Pant’s determined innings of unbeaten 89 off 138 balls helped India to secure a victory for the visitors and end the 32 long years winning streak of Australia at the “Fortress Gaba”.

“Rishabh Pant is a talented batsman. His innings somewhere remained me of Ben Stokes innings in Headingly actually. He will be praised for this and he should be. It was an unbelavaible stuff,” Justin Langer.

“The young Shubman Gill is a good take for India in the series. Their young bawling unit kept us under pressure throughout and they deserve the full credit.”
