AUS vs PAK 2nd Test: Australia Squad for Boxing Day Test Match Out!

AUS vs PAK 2nd Test: Cricket Australia provided an update this morning, announcing the squad for the AUS vs PAK 2nd Test. Lance Morris, a speedster, will rejoin the Perth Scorchers after being left out of the Australian squad for the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan in Melbourne.

Australia are 1-0 up already in the series by comprehensively winning the first test at Perth. That was a near-perfect team game that earned Australia a massive 360-run victory. The front-line attack looked too overpowered against the visitors in the first Test which could make Australia assured of landing a similar lineup for the boxing day test at MCG.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins made a similar comment “I don’t think injuries are going to be an issue, so I dare say it will be a pretty similar line-up at this stage.”

Morris’s omission is the only change with selectors trimming the 14-player squad they had in Perth to 13 for Melbourne. Cameron Green will have to wait for any callout unless there are any injury concerns.

The way Pakistan gave up on a brilliant deck at Perth Stadium may have left a lasting psychological impact on the visitors. Before the second Test in Australia, Pakistan has scheduled a two-day practice match against Victoria XI in an attempt to allay concerns over a lack of match practice.

This practice match was not initially scheduled to be a part of the tour, but it was added at Pakistan’s request to Cricket Australia. The goal of the maneuver is to provide the visiting team valuable playing time so they can hone their tactics.
