Asia Cup 2023: Three days prior to the Asia Cup 2023 opening fixture, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a few last-minute changes to the Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Squad. The cricket board has added promising middle-order batter Saud Shakeel to the 17-member squad for the tournament, which starts on August 30.

In a noticeable development, Pakistan drafted in Saud Shakeel to their Asia Cup 2023 squad. Meanwhile, Tayyab Tahir has been put into the squad as a travelling reserve.

Notably, both the aforementioned players were part of Pakistan’s squad for the Afghanistan ODIs, but neither of them could get sufficient game time. While Saud Shakeel played one game in which he scored nine runs, Tayyab Tahir couldn’t even play a single game in the Afghanistan series.

Fortunately, for Saud Shakeel, it is a great opportunity, as, initially, he was not included in the 17-men Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup 2023. With the addition of Shakeel, Pakistan has bolstered its middle-order.

Below is the Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Squad – Updated and Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2023 Schedule.

Pakistan is set to lock horns against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023 opener on August 30 in Multan. The tournament, which is slated to be held between August 30 and September 17, will see the clash of rivals – India vs Pakistan – on September 2nd.

Notably, India and Pakistan are likely to clash multiple times in the Asia Cup 2023. If everything goes right for both teams, then there are very high chances of three India vs Pakistan matches in a single Asia Cup tournament.
