Asia Cup 2022 – India vs Pakistan; Know what Rohit Sharma says about the game against Pakistan: Not more than one week is left for the fifteenth edition of the Asia Cup to begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament has been hyped extensively by the netizens over the last few weeks and the excitement amongst the fans have burst the ceiling as the contest will see India and Pakistan playing against each other for the first time since T20 World Cup 2021.

The high octane match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held on 28th August, a day after the Asia Cup 2022 opener, in the Dubai International Stadium.

Interestingly, both the sides met last time in the same venue when Pakistan went on to outshine the Indians on the World Cup stage. More importantly, the win opened Pakistan’s winning account against India in World Cup. Prior to that, India had a commanding track record against Pakistan in World Cup history.

Owing to a stellar bowling display by Shaheen Shah Afridi, followed by a batting masterclass by the opening duo of skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan managed to conquer the Indian challenge by 10 wickets.

Meanwhile, team India would be wary of the challenges and threats against Pakistan for the upcoming clash in the Asia Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, admitted that it’s going to be a high-pressure game but he is taking every step along with coach Rahul Dravid to calm down the dressing room.

He said that he is trying to isolate the Indian dressing room from the outside noise and pressure to make sure there is a normal atmosphere.

“Everyone watches the game especially India vs Pakistan. Without a doubt, it is a high-pressure game but within the group, we want to create a normal atmosphere and don’t want to hype this game within ourselves. For us, it is just a game of cricket. It is important for me and Rahul bhai to tell the players that it’s just another opposition,” Rohit Sharma told to Star Sports ahead of India-Pakistan match on 28th August.

Although Pakistan will be having winning momentum, India will be confident with its preparations. India has promising records against Pakistan in the Asia Cup history. The Men in Blue have emerged victorious on eight occasions out of 14 against arch-enemies in the Asia Cup stage. Moreover, five of these wins have come in the last six meetings.
