Vivo IPL 2021: Our system isn’t trained enough to pick threatening vice-captain: Gautam Gambhir

IPL 2021: Gautam Gambhir explains IPL 2021 auction strategy of CSK.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The buzz around the IPL 2021 has already begun with the dates of auction coming closer. All the eight franchise will be up for the coming auction on Thursday in Chennai.

In the meantime, former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has predicted the auction strategy of three times champion who had a traffic outing last season. Last month the franchise has released some of the big players like Kedar Jadhav, Harbhajan Singh, and Piyush Chawla.

Gambhir feels that there are not much of the voids left in the squad as they have done a good job by retaining the core group and trading in Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.

“Not many (gaps to fill). Despite having not the best season last time around, I think, they still have a strong core. Suresh Raina has come back now, Robin Uthappa – they have traded from Rajasthan Royals, obviously, their batting looks very strong at the moment which was a bit of a mess in the last season.

“With the collective experience of Dhoni, Raina, Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu, CSK looks good this time and has the strong lineup.”

“With Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo in the squad, CSK will be happy for now. They will look at some like K Gowtham who is an off-spinner because they have released Harbhajan Singh. And a back-up of Bravo, because MS believes a lot in all-rounders with the kind of surface they play on.”

“CSK can also opt for an Indian seamer someone like Umesh Yadav in the arsenal.”

“Once they have Umesh Yadav and Deepak Chahar, they will go for a back-up of Dwayne Bravo. Chirs Morris and K Gowtham can take that place.”
