Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni becomes the first player to breach the 150 Crore Salary mark in IPL. Dhoni has been retained by CSK as the first choice retention and was paid whopping INR 15 Crores. Dhoni becomes the first player – domestic and Foreign- to reach the landmark.

Dhoni will lead CSK once again in IPL 2021 and this could be his last season too, as per the reports. MS announced his retirement from international cricket last year and since then he is out of the action except in IPL 2020.

According to Insidesports Moneyball, CSK skipper will become the first cricketer to breach 150 crore salary mark in IPL.

Right now, Dhoni will lead CSK and his contract with the franchise is of INR 15 Crores. From Indian Premier League (IPL) MS Dhoni has made whopping INR 137.8 crores till now (CSK + Rushing Pune Supergiants). While the cheque of IPL 2021 will take MS Dhoni over INR 150 crores overall salary.

Rohit Sharma (MI):

Franchise: Mumbai Indians

Total IPL salary: Rs 146,60,00,000 

Mumbai Indians skipper and the most successful captain of Indian Premier League, Rohit Sharma is the second on the list behind MS Dhoni. Sharma till now has earned whopping INR 146.6 crores from IPL. His contract with Mumbai Indians is of INR 15 crores.

Rohit Sharma will lead Mumbai Indians for at least 3-4 seasons and will surely cross MS Dhoni in the coming years. He started his IPL journey with Deccan Chargers and eventually he was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2011.

Virat Kohli (RCB):

IPL 2021 Salary: INR 17 Crores

Franchise: Royal Challengers Bangalore

Total IPL Salary: Rs 143,20,00,000

The captain of RCB is the third cricketer on the list who will breach the landmark in 2022. Kohli till now has amassed INR 143.2 crores from IPL salary. He is the highest-paid cricketer in IPL with INR 17 crores salary. Kohli has got a hike of 1,400 per-cent from the inaugural season where he was picked for Rs 12 Lakhs.
