87 days following the Bengaluru stampede, RCB made a significant announcement, pledging to provide lakhs of rupees to the families of those who lost their lives

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: IPL 2025 champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a big announcement on Saturday (August 30). The franchise has decided to provide financial assistance to the families of 11 fans who died in the Bangalore stampede incident on the 4th of June,2025. RCB has announced a compensation amount of 25 lakh Indian rupees for the families of those who lost their lives. The franchise informed about this decision on social media. He said that this is not just financial assistance, but a symbol of solidarity, compassion and support towards the affected families.

The incident happened during the celebration

This tragic incident happened during RCB's IPL victory celebrations at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium of Bangalore, in which 11 people died and 56 others were injured due to a stampede. After this incident, the Bengaluru-based team posted something on social media for the first time in 84 days. In this post, they also informed that they have started the RCB Cares Fund (RCB CARES) to provide help in times of crisis.

The franchise wrote in its post, "On June 4, 2025, our hearts were broken. We lost eleven members of the RCB family. They contributed to the distinctiveness of our city, community, and team. Their absence will echo in the memories of everyone". The RCB team secured their inaugural IPL title by overcoming Shreyas iyer's Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final.

What did RCB say?

RCB further said, "No form of assistance can ever replace the emptiness created by their absence. Nevertheless, as an initial gesture and with profound regard, RCB has donated 25 lakh Indian rupees to support their families. This act is not merely financial aid, but a commitment to compassion, solidarity, and ongoing support."
