Shocking! Pakistan Cricket Board suspends Pakistan’s team! Check details

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), as per the reports in Samaa TV, has served a termination notice to Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans. This comes after the franchise owner Ali Tareen openly criticised the board. 

Multan Sultans got the termination notice over an alleged breach of contract. The notice was linked to Ali Tareen’s recent statements against the Pakistan Cricket Board. The franchise owner harshly criticised PCB over their policies and the league's management. He said that he is baffled by PSL’s operational structure. 

He had said: “How is PSL 10 bigger and better? Same games, same teams – what’s new? Fed up with hollow words. PCB had time to plan innovations, but we’re repeating last year. Our biggest brand deserves more. Explain the vision!”

PCB will be ending all the ties with Multan Sultan and will be looking for a new owner for the franchise

PCB after a few jibes lost their patience and have now taken action. The notice sent stated that Tareen’s remarks violated the franchise's contractual obligations and it serves as both a suspension and a warning. 

The two parties will be meeting soon and if the issue isn’t resolved then PCB will be ending all the ties with Multan Sultan and will be looking for a new owner for the franchise. It remains to be seen what the future of the team will be in the league. 

This will be the second time that Multan Sultan will be facing termination. After making their debut in 2017 under the ownership of Schon Properties, they got their contract terminated just a year later due to non-payment of fees. 

Following that Ali Tareen took over the team in 2018. But now he too is struggling with significant financial pressure. Multan Sultans being the most expensive franchise in the league with an annual fee of approximately 1.25 billion rupees, have been dealing with losses.
