Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 to be announced on this date, Ajit Agarkar to address a press conference in Mumbai

The much-anticipated Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is all set to be announced on 19th August. As per the reports in Times of India and Indian Express, it is learned that the chairman of selectors will address the press conference in Mumbai to reveal the team. 

The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 has been in the news for a while now. With not much cricketing action this month, all the attention is towards the squad of the tournaments, with many reports circulating related to the same. 

The Asia Cup 2025 is all set to begin on 9th September, with the final scheduled to be played on 28th September. The tournament will be played across two venues in the United Arab Emirates - Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 

The Indian Cricket Team will begin their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 on 10th September against the UAE at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.  The team is expected to be captained by Suryakumar Yadav, who is still in his recovery process after sports hernia surgery. 

There has also been a lot of debate around the spot of Shubman Gill for the Asia Cup 2025. Some reports claimed that he is all set to be there as a vice-captain, while a few have suggested that selectors aren't keen to change their core, and hence it will be difficult for the test skipper to make the cut in the squad. 

Recently, a report in PTI claimed that Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya are locked as the top five batters. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh are all set to be dropped as there's no space. 

Also, Jasprit Bumrah will be there and will be leading the pace attack, which will feature Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana. The clarity will be there on the 19th, when the squad will be officially announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
