WTC Points Table: India National Team Fail to Secure Top-2 Spot Even After Whitewashing West Indies 2-0

The Indian Cricket team, captained by Shubman Gill, secured a 2-0 whitewash against the West Indies in their two-match Test series. The win added 12 points to India's tally, raising their Points Percentage (PCT) from 55.56 to 61.90. However, this was not enough to climb the World Test Championship 2025-27 points table. India remains in third place with 52 points from seven matches, trailing behind Australia (100 PCT) and Sri Lanka (66.67 PCT). The West Indies, having lost all five matches played, are at the bottom of the table.

The Indian Cricket team, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, whitewashed the West Indies on Monday (October 13) by winning the second match of the IDFC FIRST BANK two-match Test series. However, this series victory did not have a major effect on the World Test Championship 2025-27 points table. The two-time WTC runners-up continue to remain at third place in the points table, with Australia at first and Sri Lanka at second. The victory earned India 12 points. This took their points total to 52 points with four wins in seven matches, but they remain behind Australia and Sri Lanka in terms of the PCT.

Before India's win in the second match against the West Indies, their PCT was 55.56. Now their PCT has increased to 61.90. Australia's PCT is 100, having clean swept the West Indies earlier this year. Sri Lanka has won one of its two matches and one match was drawn. Their PCT sits at 66.67. This puts India in third place. India secured two wins and suffered two defeats on the England tour.

West Indies are yet to win a single game

England is fourth with a PCT of 43.33. Bangladesh is fifth with a PCT of 16.67, having lost two matches and drawn one. West Indies are yet to open their win account. New Zealand has not played a Test match yet in this cycle. Pakistan and South Africa are playing a Test match in Lahore, their first match of the cycle. The Proteas are also the reigning-champions.
