Mumbai Indians managed their second straight win of the Womenโ€™s Premier League, WPL 2026, as they beat Gujarat Giants on Tuesday. In what was the sixth match of the league, the defending champions beat Gujarat by seven wickets to retain their second top spot in the points table.

Asked to bat, Gujarat Giants lost Sophie Devine early, but Beth Mooney (33) and Kanishka Ahuja (35) provided a great start. Their 42-run stand ensured that Gujarat had a great power play. Captain Ashleigh Gardner (20) tried to carry on the momentum, but couldnโ€™t go big.

With the team at 99 for four, Georgia Wareham (43*) and Bharti Falumi (36*) joined hands and took the attack to the opposition, adding 56 runs of just 24 balls for the sixth wicket. Thanks to their effort, Gujarat Giants posted a total of 192 for five on the board.

In the chase, Mumbai Indians openers G Kamalini and Hayley Matthews (22) looked positive, but lost their wickets inside the power play. It was then that Amanjot Kaur (40) and Harmanpreet Kaur (71*) took matters into their own hands, adding 72 for the third wicket.

Harmanpreet Kaur kept fighting hard and hit a magnificent half-century. She was supported equally well by Nicola Carey (38*) as the Kaur-Carey duo added an unbeaten 84-run stand to take their team home with seven wickets in hand.

This was their second win in the season and they now look favourites to win the title once again.
