WPL 2026: How much purse will each team have heading into the auction?

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 has kept many fans excited even though the tournament is still around the corner. The preparations for the event started on Thursday, November 6 when all the teams announced their retention list.
A total of 17 players were retained by all five teams and this means that the WPL 2026 auction will be a breathtaking event. Some of the big names are all set to go under the hammer and it won’t be a surprise if some of the records get shattered in the auction.
Each franchise was allowed to retain a maximum of five players. Out of this, a maximum of three capped Indian players, and a maximum of two overseas players were allowed to be retained. Team with five retentions won’t have any RTMs.
Out of all the teams, only the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals were the two sides to retain five players. Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained three, while Gujarat Giants retained two, and UP Warriorz just the one, which was a big surprise as they didn’t retain Deepti Sharma and Alyssa Healy.
