WPL 2026 Date Announced - Check Auction Highlights & Updated Squads

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is scheduled to start from January 09 to February 05, 2026. This will be the first time that the tournament will be played in the January-February Window instead of the traditional February-March slot to avoid a clash with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

WPL 2026 will be played at two venues - DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Australian Captain Alyssa Healy went unsold in the marquee round, whereas the Mumbai Indians spent their half of the purse on Amelia Kerr After buying her at a whopping price of Rs. 3.2 crore in the WPL 2026 Auction.

This is the first mega auction in WPL history. There are around 276-277 players in the pool and a total of 73 slots. Franchises can fill up to 18 players in their squad for the upcoming WPL 2026 season. UP Warriorz entered the WPL 2026 Auction with the highest purse of Rs. 14.5 crore.

​While Gujarat Giants had the second-highest purse of Rs. 9 crore at the WPL 2026 Auction. UP Warriorz were quite aggressive in the Auction since they had the highest purse. UP bought Deepti Sharma for Rs. 3.2 crore via RTM and Meg Lanning for Rs. 1.9 crore.
