WPL 2026 Auction: Alyssa Healy, Australian Captain and Six-Time World Cup Champion, Finds No Buyers at WPL 2026 Auction
In what proves to be a shocking news in the world of Cricket, Australia's Women's National Cricket Team captain Alyssa Healy went unsold at the 2026 TATA WPL Mega-Auction in Delhi on Thursday as she failed to find a taker in the mega-event.
The left-handed veteran batter didn't find any potential buyers in the auction during the marquee-players auction phase. Nonetheless, she has a chance of finding a home in the Women's Premier League during the accelerated part of the auction.
The 35-year-old missed the previous edition of the tournament due to picking up a foot-injury during the 2024 Women's Twenty-Twenty World Cup while representing Australia that year.
In the first two seasons of the Tata WPL Seasons, she handled the leadership duties of the UP Warriorz. The wicket-keeper bat has made 18 appearances so far in the tournament and has amassed 427 runs.
Healy's unblemished knock of 96 runs in 60 deliveries against 2024 winners Royal Challengers Bengalore in the first season of the tournament is still the joint 2nd-best score of any player in the Women's Premier League.
She is a member of Australia's golden era and has participated in two ODI Cricket World Cup medal-winning teams and six T20 World Cup winning teams.Healy guided Australia to the final four of the 2025 ODI World Cup, when they were defeated by eventual winners India.
