The first ever pink-ball Test-Match in the history of Cricket was played in 2015. Trans-Trasman rivals New Zealand and Australia took part in that match and it was a highly fierce and exciting contest. The Kangaroos ended up finishing on the winning side in that encounter by a margin of three-wickets. 

A few days ago, the Mighty Australians crushed Rohit Sharma-led India by a margin of 10 wickets in the Adelaide Pink-ball Test-Match, which was the Kangaroos's 13th victory in Day & Night Test contests. So far, Australia have suffered just a single defeat in the longest format of the game matches played with the pink-ball, which came versus the West Indies. The big question which arises is why is it so difficult to defeat the Kangaroos in Pink-ball Test-Matches?

The base of any side is strengthened only when players are given high number of chances in Domestic Cricket in a structural-way. One of the main reasons behind the Aussies's gold performance in Pink-ball tests is that Cricket Australia, the cricket governing body of the nation conducts domestic-cricket matches with the Pink-ball. This simply means that in Australia, youngsters who have the tendency of playing the Pink-ball well are being groomed from the Domestic-Cricket level itself. Be it a batter or a bowler, all the players are getting exposed to the Pink-ball in a really good way. 

25-year-old Nathan Mcsweeney is good example of this. He played a good knock of 39 runs in the first inning of the Adelaide Test-Match versus the Indians and stood firmly at the crease and controlled one end beautifully. This is the same player who scored a total of 762 runs with the bat in 10 contests of the 2023-24 season of Sheffield Shield, which the Domestic First-class tournament of the nation.

Australia has taken part in the highest number of Pink-Ball Tests

2023 WTC winners Australia are the only team to have taken part in the highest number of Test contests played with the Pink-Ball. They have taken part in a total of 13 contests so far, out of which they have secured victories in 12 games and have won all the Adelaide Pink-Ball fixtures. England have also played 7 Pink-Ball matches so far alongside the likes of West Indies and India. South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have also managed to gain valuable experience of playing Day & Night Tests.
