Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh has been a massive admirer of Virat Kohli ever since the starting days of his career. They were colleagues in the Indian Senior Team and Yuvi has always spoken very highly of the former Indian skipper.

As Virat is currently going through a rough phase in his life, Yuvraj came out in support of his former colleague and tried to uplift him with a few words of motivation and inspiration. He thus penned down an emotional letter on Tuesday dedicating to Virat Kohli and shared it on his Twitter handle.

Virat Kohli had been struggling with poor form for quite some time now. At the start of 2021, he thus stepped down as the captain of India’s T20 team and also as the captain of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. He did so in order to focus on his batting and the on the other formats.

However, BCCI soon removed him from ODI captaincy as well and replaced named Rohit Sharma as India’s new captain. It led to a huge brawl between BCCI and Virat and ultimately as the situation worsened, he stepped down from Test captaincy as well. It is indeed wonderful to see that Yuvraj Singh is standing beside Virat Kohli in his tough time.

Yuvraj Singh wrote in his letter that he has seen Virat Kohli transform as a person and as a cricketer. The young boy who used to face legends at the nets with zero fear in his eyes has now become a legend himself.

Saying a few words of motivation, Yuvi said that he expects to see many more wonderful knocks from Virat Kohli and asked him to always keep the ‘fire inside him burning’.

Yuvi posted a picture of Virat Kohli and him together, a picture of the letter he wrote and a picture of a golden shoe. He dedicated and gifted the shoe to Kohli. In the caption, he wrote, “To the little boy from Delhi @imvkohli I want to dedicate this special shoe to you, celebrating your career n time as captain which has brought smiles to millions of fans all over the world.” He also hoped that Kohli keeps on playing the way he does and keep making the country proud.

Well, Virat Kohli has replied to Yuvraj Singh’s tweet now and his reply is equally wonderful.

He posted another picture of him and Yuvraj Singh and wrote on his social media handles: “Yuvi Pa thank you for this lovely gesture.Your comeback from cancer will always be an inspiration for people in all walks of life not just cricket. You have always been generous and caring for people around you.I wish you all the happiness,God bless @YUVSTRONG12. Rab rakha”
