One of the greatest limited over players to have played the game, Yuvraj was particularly known for his aggressive and elegant stroke play and match winning all-round performances for India. Yuvraj Singh: The former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh likely to feature in Punjab?s SMAT squad. The chances of Yuvraj Singh stepping into competitive cricket got increased after Punjab included his name in the list of probable 30 players who can take part in SMAT 2021.



The swashbuckling all-rounder had confirmed his retirement from all forms of cricket last year. However, Punjab Cricket Association asked him to play for them and Singh assured his presence.



The southpaw was seen practicing in nets at Punjab Cricket Academy soon after he turned 39. He shared his training video on his Instagram.

However, there is no clarity for him to be a part of the game. ?We are still waiting for BCCI?s response,? PCA secretary Puneet Bali.



The former Indian left-handed batsman also took part in the Global T20 League held in Canada after receiving NOC from BCCI. The Indian Cricket Board does not allow active players to take part in foreign leagues.



Bandar Sarn is another noticeable inclusion by Punjab Cricket Association along with Yuvraj Singh. The speedster had moved to Chandigarh last year after he was left out from the Punjab Squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy.



Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be the beginning of the domestic circuit after the Pandemic. The opener of SMAT will be played on 10th January.



However, the decision for Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy is not yet taken by the board.

ICC WTC should be a 3 match affair, India at a slight disadvantage said, Yuvraj Singh.



Yuvraj Singh feels that the ICC World Test Championship final should be a three games affair between India and New Zealand as the current scenarios put India at a ?slight disadvantage? against the Kiwis.



The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand is currently engaged in a two games Test series against England and will ahead to the final with enough match practice while the Indian team will advance further without any proper match practice.



The final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship will be played at Rose Bowl, Southampton, starting June 18 between India and New Zealand.



"I feel in a situation like this, there should be a best of 3 Tests, because if you lose the first one then you can come back in the next two. India will have a slight disadvantage because New Zealand are already playing Test cricket in England," Yuvraj told Sports Tak.



India landed in the UK on 3rd June after which the team underwent a three days quarantine before heading out to have individual practice sessions. Virat and his men will have around 8-10 sessions of practice before advancing to the final run.

"There are 8-10 practice sessions but there's no substitute for match-practice. It will be an even contest but New Zealand will have an edge."



The former cricketer reckons that India has a formidable playing unit as compared to the Kiwis in both aspects of the game. 



?I do believe that India is very strong because lately, we have been winning games outside the country. I think our batting is stronger and bowling is at par,? stated Yuvraj Singh.



The southpaw said that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, who are going to be Indian openers, will have to get acclimated to the conditions. To win score runs in England, India will have to adapt to the swing movements quickly, said the 2011 World Cup hero.



"Rohit Sharma is very experienced now in Test matches. He has almost 7 hundreds, 4 hundreds as opener. But both Rohit and Shubman Gill have not opened in England ever," Yuvraj said.



"They know the challenge, the Dukes Ball swings early. They have to get used to the conditions quickly. In England, it's important to take it one session at a time. In the morning, the ball swings and seams, in the afternoon you can score runs, after Tea, it swings again. As a batsman, if you can adapt to these things, you can be successful."

Team India?s World Cup 2011 hero Yuvraj Singh in his recent conversation with Gaurav Kapoor in the podcast called ?22 Yarns? revealed what Stuart Broad?s father told him after he smashed his son for six consecutive sixes in an over.



During the 2007 T20 World Cup game between England and India, Yuvraj Singh and Andrew Flintoff got engaged in a heated argument in the 17th over of the first innings. The argument between the two got red hot and the Umpires had to intervene in order to resume the play.



Furious with what happened an over before, Yuvraj Singh took his revenge as he smacked Stuart Broad to six sixes in the very next over. With this Singh became the only fourth cricketer in senior cricket to achieve this feat.



Remembering the conversation with Stuart Broad's father Chris Broad, who is an ICC Match referee, Yuvraj Singh said, ?I remember when we were playing the semifinal against Australia, Chris Broad, Stuart?s father was the match referee. He came before the game and said ?thank you for almost finishing my son?s career.? I said ?nothing personal. I got hit for 5 sixes, I know how it feels.?

The 39-years old cricketer did not respond to Chris Board's comment as he was also hit off to five sixes in an over by a batsman and he knows how it feels.



Yuvraj further said that he gave his T20 shirt to Stuart Broad as his father had asked him for that.



?He was like ?you have to give that shirt to Stuart, the one you wore while hitting six sixes.? I gave him the shirt and wrote ?I know how it feels, coz I have been hit for five.? I said ?you are the future of England, I?m sure you are gonna do great things.? And look where he is today, more than 500 Test wickets,? Yuvraj said.



Stuart Broad, the English pace stalwart, is amongst the highest wicket-takers in Test Cricket. He is also the third most capped English player in the longest format with 147 Test matches and 518 wickets under his decorated hat.



?See it can happen to anyone. You can have a bad day and when you do only you are a person who can understand what is actually going on. Former Indian all-rounder and 2011 World Cup-winning player Yuvraj Singh reckons Rishabh Pant as a potential Indian captain in the future following his exploits in the IPL 2021 with added captaincy roles.



The former cricketer said Pant has proved himself in the tough conditions and is going to be a match-winner of the team.



The 23-years old Rishabh Pant had a horrible initial stage of his career where he was consistently criticised for his wicket-keeping skills and rash shot play to throw wicket.?



The cricketer with the support of Indian management, who backed him knowing his capabilities, has overcome his shortcomings and has proved his mettle in the recent past.



Pant was brilliant in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy where he scored crucial runs and won the series, playing a scintillating knock of unbeaten 89 at the Gaba to seal the Border Gavaskar Trophy.&nbsp;



He also had a good time against England earlier this year where he amassed 270 runs including a century and two half-centuries.

He further said that it feels good to watch the public and media speaking good about Rishabh lately, especially after a lot of criticism he received for his poor wicketkeeping.?



"I am very glad, that you are saying he is very mature and he is a find for India because I felt he got a lot of criticism after the ways (in which) he got out. So, it is good to listen to some positive words for him,? Singh added.



The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer compared the likes of legendary Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist with Rishabh Pant. He can change the course of the game in a blink and can be really destructive.



"I see someone, Rishabh Pant, like Adam Gilchrist who can change the course of the game. Gilchrist changed the course of the game in Test cricket when he came onto the scene. And I feel Rishabh can do the same," he said.



Pant has got a sharp and smart brain behind his jolly, chirpy and ever-smiling attitude reckons Yuvraj Singh and foresees him as future Indian captain.



"I also see Rishabh as a potential Indian captain in the future. But I feel he surely has a smart brain as well, because I saw him when he was captaining in the IPL for Delhi Capitals. Yuvraj Singh arrested for making casteist remarks against Yuzvendra Chahal.



Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was on Saturday arrested by Hansi Police (Haryana) for allegedly making casteist slur during an Instagram live last year. He was, though, given interim bail on the orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court.



The 35-years old cricketer during an Instagram Live, conducted in April last year, with opener Rohit Sharma uttered some casteist remarks unknowingly against leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal which didn't go well with Chahal's fans. The people on social media has constantly targeted Singh multiple times and has often demanded apologies.



Rajat Kalsan, a lawyer from Hasni, filed a complaint against the former cricketer for his poor casteist comments after which action was taken against Yuvraj Singh and was booked under Sections 153A and 153B of Indian Penal Code Section 3(1)(u) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention and Atrocities) Act.



Nitika Gahulaut, Superintendent of Police (Hansi) confirmed the formal arrest of the Ex Indian cricketer and after which he was released on bail.

"We only made a formal arrest and he was released on bail in compliance of the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High court," Nitika Gahulaut said.



The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer has issued his apology for the same and has expressed his regret for unknowingly hurting people?s sentiments.?



"This is to clarify I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception,? wrote Yuvraj Singh in his apology which was posted across his social media handles.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has confirmed that he is going to return back from his retirement and will be soon on the field. It is noteworthy that the all-rounder had announced his retirement two years back after playing international cricket for India for 19 long years.&nbsp;



The southpaw with his social media post informed that he is withdrawing from his retirement and will play cricket very soon. Though he doesn?t reveal the tournament for which he is going to prepare.



The 39-years old all-rounder has been active in several cricket leagues ever since he drew curtains to his glorious international cricket. He has featured in several leagues all across the globe including Road Safety World Series, Global T20 League and Abu Dhabi T10 league.



He further urged to keep supporting team India, which has lost its first two matches in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and is on the verge of elimination.&nbsp;

Yuvraj Singh has been a massive admirer of Virat Kohli ever since the starting days of his career. They were colleagues in the Indian Senior Team and Yuvi has always spoken very highly of the former Indian skipper. As Virat is currently going through a rough phase in his life, Yuvraj came out in support of his former colleague and tried to uplift him with a few words of motivation and inspiration. He thus penned down an emotional letter on Tuesday dedicating to Virat Kohli and shared it on his Twitter handle. Virat Kohli had been struggling with poor form for quite some time now. At the start of 2021, he thus stepped down as the captain of India?s T20 team and also as the captain of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. He did so in order to focus on his batting and the on the other formats. 



However, BCCI soon removed him from ODI captaincy as well and replaced named Rohit Sharma as India?s new captain. It led to a huge brawl between BCCI and Virat and ultimately as the situation worsened, he stepped down from Test captaincy as well. Not everybody gets the support in Indian cricket that MS Dhoni has received, says Yuvraj Singh: Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has accused the Indian selectors and team management of treating him unfairly after his comeback to the Indian cricket post the ICC ODI World Cup 2011. Yuvraj in his recent interview launched an attack and said that not everybody in the Indian cricket gets the support that MS Dhoni has received during the fag end of his career.



Yuvraj Singh?s image in world cricket is more than just an all-rounder. A fascinating cricketer with long levers and a beautiful gift of timing, Yuvraj Singh achieved a lot during his international career. The southpaw was even adjudged as the Player of the Tournament during the 2011 World Cup, which India won.



However, his time post World Cup remains full of ebbs and flows. Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer during the 2011 World Cup and he went for treatment. The cricketer battled the disease and made a comeback in Indian cricket, however, things weren?t the same as they were earlier when he left.



Though he used to feature in the Indian jerseys, he was not consistent and used to get dropped from the squad often. Yuvraj has time and again opened up about his snub from the Indian team after his retirement in 2019.



Yuvraj Singh has fired several bold statements in the past, about how unfairly he was treated towards the end of his career, but the recent attack has grabbed several eyeballs.&nbsp;



The 40-years old cricketer in his recent interview said that MS Dhoni is amongst a few lucky ones to get everlasting support from the Indian dressing room and selectors.?

?Look at Mahi (MS Dhoni) towards the end of his career. He had so much support from Virat and Ravi Shastri. They took him to the (2019) World Cup, he played till the end, and went on to play 350 games. I think support is very important but in Indian cricket everybody will not get support,? said Yuvraj Singh on Home of Heroes on Sports18.



?Definitely when you have support from the coach and the captain it helps,? he added.



He further mentioned that several great players like Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir were not lucky enough to get that aid from the dressing room.



?There have been great players like Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Gautam Gambhir who didn?t get that (support). When you are batting out there and you know that the axe is hanging on your head how will you concentrate and bat and give your best. It is not an excuse but with different coaches and after 2011 times are very different,? he stated.
