VIrat Kohli follows Sachin Tendulkar to join the elite List A list with 16000 runs

After his India teammate and veteran cricketer Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli also reached his century on his return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy, India's premier domestic ODI tournament. Kohli made his comeback to domestic List A cricket for Delhi and followed with a third century in his last four One-dayers. 

Virat Kohli led the proceedings for India since his return to India with the series against South Africa. Kohli peaked during the series, as he started with a century in the very first game. After the first hundred, he followed it with another in the second match. The third game marked Kohli's unbeaten half-century, and he carried the peak form into the domestic tournament. 

Kohli agreed to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for about 3-4 games, after the BCCI instructed the two veterans to feature in the tournament to keep up with their form until the ICC ODI World Cup 2027. The two veterans have shown impressive form since their return to cricket following the six-month break. 

Virat Kohli's latest milestone with 16000 runs in his List A career 

Virat Kohli reached a new landmark in his international cricket career, as he became the second Indian cricketer to have breached the 16000-run mark in List A cricket. The milestone was achieved during the latest match between Andhra Pradesh and Kohli's home state team, Delhi. 

The chasemaster played a masterclass innings as he helped Delhi chase a 299-run target. Kohli was the only centurion in the Delhi innings, as he finished on 131 runs off 101 balls. Priyansh Arya and Nitish Rana backed Kohli on his legendary feat with valuable 70s. 

With 16000+ runs, Virat Kohli now averages an extraordinary 57, along with 57 centuries and 84 half-centuries as well. His List A feat of 16000 runs came in 330 innings, which is 61 fewer than Sachin Tendulkar. Over the past year, Kohli, the legendary batter, has amassed 651 runs in 13 international innings and has an average of 65.10, with three centuries and four fifties.
