Virat Kohli has been blasted for his cryptic post on X, as the fans started speculating on his motivation to stay until the next World Cup in 2027, after it was revealed to be an advertisement. The post came ahead of the three-match ODI series against Australia starting on the 19th of October, Sunday.
This time around, it marks a crucial series, since the Indian veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been revealed to be making a comeback ahead of the series. Also, Shubman Gill is all set to make his debut in this series. The ODIs will be followed by another five-match T20I series.

Early on Thursday, the 16th of October, Indian veteran Virat Kohli shared the post on Twitter. The post read, "The only time you truly fail is when you decide to give up." This post quickly went viral since it looked like he was initiating the hopes for continuation till the 2027 ICC World Cup.
This showed that he is not ready to retire and remains focused on continuing his career in the 50-over format. Virat Kohli is not known for making non-brand-related tweets, since his last such post dates back to 17th September, when he wished the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a happy birthday.

Following the post, which went viral on the X platform, Kohli shared another post on X featuring the promotional video for his apparel brand Wrogn. The clip highlighted a message on how failures often teach lessons that victories cannot, which reflected on Kohli's own rise with the highs and lows in his career.
However, it had crushed the hopes of the Indian fans who took it as an inspirational video on Kohli's hinting towards elongating his stay with the Indian team. When they realized that it was just an advertisement, they started fuming at the Indian cricketer.
