Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were supposed to get married on November 23, 2025. Both the families were preparing and celebrating, but one day before the marriage, Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suddenly fell ill while having breakfast and was taken to the hospital in Sangli.

Due to this, the wedding was postponed, and the next day, Palash Muchhal also fell sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. Family members said this was the only reason for the delay, and both sides assured that now the marriage will happen later.

On December 07, 2025, Smriti Mandhana posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to clear the confusion and rumours regarding the postponement of the wedding. She wrote that the wedding had been called off and requested everyone to stop spreading rumours and respect privacy.

Smriti Mandhana, in her Instagram post, “I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here… I request you to please respect the privacy of both families and allow us the space to process and move on.”

Smriti Mandhana also said that her main purpose has always been to represent India in cricket. She wants to stay focused on her game and continue winning matches for the country.

Palash Muchhal also posted on Instagram. He said this was the most difficult phase of his life, and many rumours being spread online are baseless. He also wrote that his team would take strict legal action against anyone spreading false or defamatory stories.
