Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: Deepak Hooda suspended by Baroda Cricket Association for the indiscipline

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: BCA wrote to BCCI for Hooda’s ‘misconduct’.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) on Sunday reportedly wrote to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informing about Deepak Hooda’s misconduct as he stepped back from the bio-secure bubble a day before the match.

Earlier Hooda wrote to Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) accusing his skipper Krunal Pandya for repeatedly abusing him in front of his teammates and other state teams who came to practice at Reliance Stadium. Hooda also mentioned that Krunal Pandya also stopped him from practising at the nets.

BCA wrote to BCCI:

BCA chief executive officer (CEO) Shishir Hattangadi wrote an email to Hooda citing, pulling back from the tournament especially when you are the vice-captain of the side will be taken to the BCCI and IPL governing council.

“There is no team that doesn’t have differences but to walk away and talk to the media giving only your side of the story is a case of seeking unwarranted publicity and putting self before the game,” Hattangadi wrote in the email to Hooda.

BCA CEO also mentioned about the chat he had with Hooda’s IPL franchise owner (Kings XI Punjab).

“I contacted with your IPL franchise owner and I will surely write to BCCI and IPL governing council for the same. The misconduct of pulling back from the responsibility is not acceptable. The decision to go to BCCI is taken after consulting team management,” BCA CEO said.

The email also mentioned that his act of leaving the responsibility celery shows that he put himself above the team.

“Walking away from your responsibility is not the solution to any problem in this world. You have sent a message indicating that you keep yourself above the team and that’s not the spirit of the game. This also signifies your attitude and commitment to your team,” the email stated.

Previously Deepak Hooda wrote to BCA for the misbehaviour of his skipper.

“I have been part of the cricket for the last 11 years for Baroda Cricket Association. Right now, I am chosen for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I am depressed, demoralised and under pressure. As from last few days, at least from the last couple of days, my team captain Mr Krunal Pandya is using abusive language to me in front of my teammates and also other states team who have come to do match practice in Reliance Stadium Vadodara,” Deepak Hooda wrote in the letter.
