Vivo IPL 2021: SRH appoints Kane Williamson as the skipper for the remainder of Vivo IPL 2021.

Vivo IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday announced that Australian cricketer David Warner will step down from the captaincy role for the franchise while Kane Williamson will take over the reins from him for the rest of the fourteenth edition of IPL.

Desperate to win games in IPL 2021, SRH also announced that the franchise will field a different combination of the overseas players in the playing11 as they come to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 2nd.

“The team management has also made the decision that they will be changing their overseas combination for tomorrow’s match against Rajasthan Royals,” SRH said in a statement.

“This decision has not come lightly as the management respects the enormous impact David Warner has had for the franchise over a number of years. AS we face the remainder of the season we are sure David will continue to help us strive for success both on and off the field,” SRH added.

Hyderabad has just one win in the six games they have played so far and are placed at the bottom of the points table with two points.

Kiwi Cricketer Kane Williamson was not available to play the first couple of early games however he made his return with match winnings knocks. In the three games, Williamson has scored 108 runs which include an unbeaten 66 that took SRH to the super-over.

Aussie batter David Warner on the other hand is going through a pale season. He has struggled to pace his innings well and struggled to keep up with the strike rate. In the 6 games, Warner has scored 193 runs which included two half-centuries with just a 110.29 strike rate.
