SL vs AFG 2023: Sri Lanka easily won the 3rd ODI match against Afghanistan and the series by 2-1. The Player of the Series was Dushmantha Chameera, and he has taken six wickets in this series.

Sri Lanka have shown good intent in the last two matches, and their batters and Bowlers performed well, Seamers and Top Order batters have taken charge and led their team to victory. In the Third ODI, Sri Lankan bowlers all out of Afghanistan in just 22.2 overs and Chased the target of 117 runs in 16 overs and easily won the third ODI.

Afghanistan lost momentum in this series after their batting failure in the last match. In the Third ODI, They came to bat first and, again, their batting collapsed, Ibrahim Zadran played a small 22 runs inning but failed to score big. Bowlers had a low target to defend, and still, they needed to show a fighting spirit while defending the target.

The First half of The Match:

Afghanistan won the toss and came to bat, but this decision turns bad for Afghanistan as they got all out in just 22.2 overs and scored only 116 runs o the scoreboard. Rahmanullah Gurbaz got out third time by scoring only single-digit runs.

Ibrahim Zadran tried to play a long inning but got out by scoring 22 runs only, whereas Mohd. Nabi and Gulbadin Naib has scored 23 and 20 runs, respectively. All the other batters failed to score runs and lost their wicket easily against Sri Lankan Seamers and Spinners.

Sri Lankan Bowlers showed another excellent performance, Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a nice spell and dominated the Afghani Batters, and they took four and three wickets, respectively.

Second Half of The Match:

Sri Lanka had to chase a low total of 117 runs in 50 overs, and they easily chased the target in 16 overs with the loss of only one wicket. Sri Lankan openers has played good inning since the last match.

Pathum Nissanka knocked a half-century and scored 51 runs in 34 balls with eight fours and two sixes. Whereas Dimuth Karunaratne knocked another half-century in this series and scored 56 runs.

As the Total was very low so, it was almost easy for Sri Lankan betters to chase the target. Gulbadin Naib Took one wicket, and Afghanistan also lost the match and series.
