IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Shreyas Iyer to take home INR 20 Crores from RCB.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has revealed that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has planned to go bonkers and break its bank in order to acquire Shyreas Iyer in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

With less than two weeks remaining for the mega auction IPL 2022, all the franchises are gearing up with their final preparations for the biggest ever event. As many as 590 cricketers from all across the globe will go under the hammer on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore.

Recently, the Indian Premier League (IPL) social media handles showed the top draws of the IPL 2022 and Shreyas Iyer was one of the ten marquee players listed there.

Aakash Chopra said that Shreyas Iyer is predicted to bag a massive IPL contract and snatch all the limelight during the mega auction. Chopra expects Iyer to make at least 15-16 crores in the mega auction.

He further mentioned that young Ishan Kishan not making it to the final list indicates that Shreyas Iyer will be offered high bids during the event.

“Now Ishan Kishan has been left out, it means money will be saved for Ishan Kishan and high bids will be placed on Shreyas Iyer. It could be 15-16 crores as well, someone told me that RCB has kept 20 crores for Shreyas Iyer,” Chopra told on his Youtube Channel.

“Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don’t think Punjab would be looking at him. The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer. In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could’ve been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer,” he added.

Shreyas Iyer has been seen as the most probable candidate to take up the leadership role in either Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) or in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Both the franchises have shown their interests in getting Iyer’s services.

The Mumbai cricketer is a quality option and an overall package. Besides his intelligent leadership, Iyer has a fantastic batting record and is also a phenomenal fielder.

For the unversed, Virat Kohli stepped down from RCB leadership to manage his workload. Kohli announced his decision midway through the IPL 2021 and opted to relinquish his role following the completion of the tournament.
