Sanju Samson dropped, Shreyas Iyer, Riyan Parag in, as Harbhajan Singh names his Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh unveiled his Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The cricketer-turned-commentator made some surprise picks in the team, dropping Sanju Samson, who has been one of the best players in the last few years. 

Sanju Samson has been asked to open the innings for India in the T20Is, and he has aced that challenge brilliantly. He has been amongst the highest run-getters for the team in the last year, and Harbhajan's not picking him came as a surprise. 

For the openers, Harbhajan Singh picked Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma. Not only this, he also backed Shubman Gill to he there in the team for the tournament. There have been various reports recently that claimed that Gill might be there as a vice-captain. 

Harbhajan Singh also added Riyan Parag to his Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The young batter has been performing well in the IPL as well as the domestic circuit. He also picked Shreyas Iyer, who was among the top picks in the last edition of the IPL. 

Iyer captained Punjab Kings and guided them to the final of the tournament. He scored around 600 runs and was among the best batters in the league. In place of Samson, he backed either KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant to take the keeping gloves. 

Washington Sundar, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel were the three all-rounders picked by him. While Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh are the pacers that will play the Asia Cup 2025, according to Harbhajan Singh.
