Vivo IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals (RR) star all-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 games due to a broken finger. According to the management, Stokes sustained the injury while taking a diving catch in the opening game of inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals to dismiss Chris Gayle in the 10th over of Punjab’s innings.

The Royals management confirmed that Ben Stokes will not be playing any more games of IPL 2021 and said, “subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a broken finger, which will, unfortunately, rule him out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021 season”.

The English all-rounder will remain with the Indian franchise to provide his valuable inputs. However, the franchise will see around for the potential replacement of the all-rounder.

“We are delighted that Ben would like to stay with the group to provide his valued support and inputs off the field. In the meantime, we will be reviewing potential replacement options for the remainder of the season.”

Stokes will be assessed by Rajasthan Royals medical team and full support will be given to him for his recovery.

The injury to the all-rounder could affect Royal’s plans and strategies significantly. The franchise had already faced a blow with star pacer Jofra Archer missing out on the first couple of games.

The English pacer was seen doing light training yesterday in the nets however his return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) is still under black clouds.
