After the Australia series, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are gearing up for the 2027 World Cup, but it’s a long journey, and they will be playing lots of ODI series in between these years. However, this schedule is based on the assumption that both players will be playing the 2027 World Cup; they might retire before, but for the time being, we are not considering the retirement thing since fans want them to play the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma and Virat ended the Australia ODI series on a high note; both played exceptional cricket in the last ODI. Rohit smashed a brilliant century (121*), whereas Kohli scored 74* runs, and both led India to win the match by nine wickets. Both hinted that they are willing to play in the ODI World Cup 2027, and now, the focus is on the upcoming games and fitness.

Will Virat & Rohit play in the 2027 World Cup?

Both players are expected to play in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027, and things will become clearer after the Australia ODI series. Their focus is on fitness, form and consistency; however, they will have lots of gaps in between many series, so maintaining the same form and consistency is going to be a challenge for them.

Reports suggest that Virat and Rohit will play domestic tournaments like the Vijay Hazare Trophy to maintain their form and consistency. It’s going to be a bit difficult, but they are expected to cross these hurdles and play the upcoming ICC tournament in 2027.
