The Mumbai Skipper is the only captain to lift IPL titles 5 times as a captain and Rohit also holds the record for winning the IPL Title most number of times. Rohit is on the IPL winning side six times. 5 times for Mumbai Indians as a captain and one time with Deccan Chargers as a player.

After the brilliant leadership to guide his team to straight 5th title in 8 seasons, Rohit came into the limelight of being the supreme manager and leader for his team. The cricket experts went wild to praise the skipper for winning the title 5th time. The cricketing fraternity wants India to make Rohit Sharma as their white-ball Capitan.

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir on Rohit Sharma:

The former Indian explosive opener Gautam Gambhir said, Rohit is the most destructive batsman and a strategist Leader. He should be appointed as India’s White ball captain.

“If Rohit Sharma doesn’t become India’s captain, it’s India’s loss, not Rohit’s,” Gambhir told ESPNCricinfo.

“Yes, a captain is only as good as his team and I completely agree with that, but what are the parameters to judge a captain on who is good and who isn’t? The parameters and benchmark should be the same. Rohit has led his team to five IPL titles,” Gautam Gambhir.

Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in the final fo Dream11 IPL 2020 by five wickets and won the Indian T20 League for the 5th time.

“We keep saying MS Dhoni is India’s most successful captain. Why? Because he has won two World Cups and three IPLs,” Gambhir said.

“Rohit has won five IPL titles, he is the most successful captain in the history of the tournament. Going forward, it’ll be a shame if he doesn’t get India’s white-ball or just T20 captaincy.”

The former English skipper took no time to praise Mumbai Indians, Skipper Rohit Sharma over his superb captaincy. He took Twitter to applaud and congratulate Mumbai Indians on their 5th title win.

Vaughan reckoned, Rohit Sharma should be handed over the T20I leadership. He also said it will give chances to Virat to handle the workload easily and focus more as a player.

“Without question, Rohit Sharma should be the Indian T20 captain. Fantastic man-manager & leader and he knows exactly how to win T20 games. It would also give Virat a chance to take a breather and just be the player. It works for all other teams around the world.”
