Rohit Sharma needs to provide quick start to MI in RCB vs MI match tonight: Aakash Chopra: Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma needs to unleash his best in order for Mumbai to thrash Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), tonight, feels former the cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra.

Notably, Rohit Sharma has failed to provide his team with a quickfire start in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The dashing cricketer has only managed to score 54 runs at a strike rate of 110 in three matches so far.

Aakash Chopra reckons that Saturday’s evening match between RCB and MI will be an acid test for Rohit Sharma as a batter. He needs to score big runs for the team so as to keep alive in the playoffs race.

“Cometh the hour, cometh the Rohit. This is your time. If you don’t score runs even in this game, then it will be almost written in stone that Mumbai won’t qualify for playoffs this year. This will mean that you yourself have finished your chances of qualifying,” said Aakash Chopra in his Youtube video.

He further added that if Rohit Sharma’s bat remains quiet then it’s impossible for Mumbai Indians (MI) to pass the playoff barrier.

“Without Rohit scoring runs, it (qualification) is simply not possible.”

Mumbai Indians have lost three of their opening matches in succession. The franchise is currently standing in the penultimate position with three losses from three matches.

Glenn Maxwell will score less than 20 runs: Aakash Chopra

The renowned commentator further predicted Glenn Maxwell’s score against Mumbai Indians tonight.

According to Aakash Chopra, RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell won’t be able to score anything in excess of 20 runs. He mentioned that only Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, and Murugan Ashwin will be given the responsibility to bowl against him.

“I think Maxwell will get dismissed at a score below 20. The only bowlers who will bowl to him will be Bumrah, Tymal Mills or Murugan Ashwin. Maybe Riley Meredith too if he plays in place of Daniel Sams.”

The Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be up against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) in match number 18 of the Tata IPL 2022 in the Maharashtra Cricket Association International Stadium, Pune.
