India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have made their intentions clear for the T20Is. The reports in Express Sports have suggested that both of them are keen to play in the shortest format of the game and have told BCCI that they are available for selection.
The reports have suggested that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have expressed strong desert to selector Ajit Agarkar. They have stated that they will be available for selection for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.
The T20I series between India and Afghanistan will begin from 11th January to 17th January. It will be a huge surprise if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will feature in the series because they haven?t played a single T20I since the end of the T20 World Cup 2022.
In their absence, a lot of youngsters have got the opportunity and Hardik Pandya has been captaining the team. But the all-rounder is injured and is expected to miss the T20I series against Afghanistan. Also, Suryakumar Yadav, who was his deputy, is also likely to miss the series due to injury.?

BCCI also has kept an eye on 30 players and will monitor them during the IPL. Out of those players, 15 will be picked for the T20 World Cup 2024. It is likely that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be among those 30 players and it won?t be a surprise if they play the tournament.
The clear picture related to the Indian team will be cleared after the upcoming Afghanistan series. There were reports which stated that Rohit Sharma will take over the captaincy of the T20I team as BCCI also wants him to lead.

India and will be taking on Afghanistan in the three-match T20I series. The first game will be played on 11th January at Mohali. The focus will then shift towards the second match which will be played on 14th January. The match will take place in??Indore. The series will be concluded in Bengaluru, which will host the last game on 17th January.?
